University of New England provides a unique study opportunity for international students. The University of New England (UNE) was the first regional university established in Australia. It was originally formed in 1938 as the New England University College as a College of the University of Sydney and became fully independent in 1954. Accommodation
A unique feature of the University of New England is the presence on campus of seven residential colleges and the complex of self-catering flats. The residential colleges and flats accommodate nearly half of the University's internal students.
Other accommodation on campus includes Wright Village , a complex of 47 flats providing space for 300 students in four-, six- or eight-bedroom flats, where students share kitchen, living and bathroom facilities.
Students may also choose to live off-campus in motel, hotels, Bed & Breakfasts, Caravan Parks or rented houses and apartments, private board, etc.
Orientation
An orientation programme is offered by the International Office in first semester (February) and second semester (July). The orientation programme includes a number of useful information sessions and helps students adjust to the Australian culture and the University. Students can also enjoy excursions to some of the wonderful waterfalls, gorges, rainforest and National Parks of New England.
